The Peruvian Paso

We will pick you up from your hotel either at 8 a.m. for the morning program, or at 2.30 p.m. for the afternoon program, and take you to our Ranch CRIADERO ILALO, located just 10 miles from the city in the foothills of Ilaló Volcano. The riding program begins with a short tour of the premises. We will show you our breeding studs and work horses. A demonstration of our horses will show you the inbred characteristics of the Peruvian Paso horse.

After this introduction you will ride inside our ranch to get comfortable in the saddle and to understand the basic principles of riding a Peruvian Paso. We will then leave the ranch to begin a ride in the surrounding area in the foothills of Ilalo Volcano, reaching one of the lookout points from where the entire Quito valley, including active Pichincha volcano, can be observed. This takes between 1 to 1.5 hours.

We return to the ranch at approximately 12 p.m. for the morning program, or 5.30 for the afternoon program. After having a snack in the ranch and some time to relax in the premises, we drive you back to your hotel in Quito.
